On Saturday, June 29th, 2002, Kini, Kimi,
Bob, and Amy left home for a 2 week tour of Europe.
We planned and packed carefully ...
we would be traveling by train through 3 countries, and staying in 6 different
hotels.
Our total luggage consisted of 3 bookbags and plans to do our wash halfway through the trip.
Our first flight took us from the Roanoke,
Virginia airport to New York.
Although we could not actually see Ground Zero,
we
were very conscious of the area left empty by the fall of the Twin Towers.
It
affected us deeply.
